How to take good care of your skin?

In terms of both weight and surface area, skin is the largest organ in the body. It gives natural protection from infections caused by bacteria and viruses and regulates the temperature of the body. One of the most sensitive organs is the skin as certain conditions irritate or clog your skin and cause allergies and skin problems like dermatitis and hives, resulting in swelling, itching and burning.
The most common skin problem upon adolescence is Acne. It affects the appearance and causes several physical and psychological complexes among the young people. Your skin changes with age. With the passage, skin loses fat and becomes thin hence making it less smooth and taking less time to heal too. Wrinkles, spots and dryness are other common symptoms of ageing and sign that your skin needs some extra care.
Sunlight is one of the cause of ageing. It does not mean that one should not expose himself/herself to the sun at all. Sunlight provides us with the vitamin D, an essential vitamin for the skin. However, there could be necessary precautionary measures such as use of sunglasses and sunscreen/sun blocks, wearing protective clothing and avoiding sun exposure when its strongest. One adds to the aging process especially wrinkles by smoking cigarettes. Wrinkles increase with the number of cigarettes smoked. In addition to wrinkles, people have different kinds of skin pigmentation. The most common of the pigmentation is again due to sunlight. The sunlight provides the necessary food for the skin cells melanocytes. Greater exposure to the sunlight feeds these melanocytes well and hence makes them appear as darker brown spots on the cheeks and forehead. When these cells damage, production of melanin get's disturbed.
There are several doughy products available in the market that claim to revitalize the aging symptoms. Only a few work but they do more harm to your skin that nourishing it. They do not provide us with the complete remedy but a temporary solution to your problem. The only way is to know and get your skin issue diagnosed first and then go for the treatment accordingly.
